No matter how often I'm asked to tell about myself, I find myself at a loss to begin. What is there to tell?
First, I am human. I'm not perfect, and I have no delusions to the contrary. I'm not especially good at facing and handling stress and the situations that spawn it, and I certainly have other flaws which I'm not going to express here. The fact is, I believe that every person has quirks, oddities, or imperfections. And I also believe that we are all groping and searching for answers in life. Before judging others, I try to remember that in many ways we are equally in the dark, and that life should be celebrated rather than wasted condemning what we do not always understand.
In music, I don't tend to favor one kind exclusively, but I do admit to a certain dislike for rap and country. The reason for the prior is the sort of messages that tend to be broadcast by means of it, and the latter just does not appeal to me. Gentle melodies bring calm to me. Heavy, powerful riffs enliven me. Deep lyrics give me new ideas to imagine and pursue in thought. Goofy, seemingly nonsense lyrics can prove a distraction from the stress of life.
Books speak to me in so many ways. I guess I've always been a bit addicted to the written word. I can be just as entertained reading about the universe and scientific studies of it as by works of fiction. I love to learn - about the world around me, the things in it, and in some way about myself as well.
